Swing Life Away.

I got a new better job! And guess what? I can even work more than 20 hours a week there, I get more money and Im not the only white person working there! Im no longer tagged as "the white girl." Its at a Grocery store, it has lots of chances for advancement, and quickly according to my boss-lady. I wont start until next Saturday though, which is cool by me, itll give my current employer a heads-up. Mike also had an interview today, I guess it didnt go that well since they seem to want people with experience, which boggles my mind, how can someone even get experience, without being given a job first? Bitches.

Or maybe it was because the news was blazing how Decker College (where Mikes a student at) is screwing over their students and that they dont get the needed education from there Yeah, that could have something to do with it. Shady ass characters at Decker. Ill keep praying that he gets a job. As for now Im on a special kind of high, I just had a nice glass of Coca-Cola and Im listening to Rise Against, well the one song I know ;) The lyrics are cute, see:

Swing Life Away
the lyrics are my "And I quote" substitute for today.

Am I loud and clear, or am I breaking up?
Am I still your charm, or am I just bad luck?
Are we getting closer, or are we just getting more lost?

I'll show you mine if you show me yours first
Let's compare scars, I'll tell you whose is worse
Let's unwrite these pages and replace them with our own words

We live on front porches and swing life away,
We get by just fine here on minimum wage
If love is a labor I'll slave till the end,
I won't cross these streets until you hold my hand

I've been here so long, I think that it's time to move
The winter's so cold, summer's over too soon
Let's pack our bags and settle down where palm trees grow

I've got some friends, some that I hardly know
But we've had some times, I wouldn't trade for the world
We chase these days down with talks of the places that we will go

We live on front porches and swing life away,
We get by just fine here on minimum wage
If love is a labor I'll slave till the end,
I won't cross these streets until you hold my hand....until you hold my hand

I'll show you mine if you show me yours first
Let's compare scars, I'll tell you whose is worse
Let's unwrite these pages and replace them with our own words

We live on front porches and swing life away,
We get by just fine here on minimum wage
If love is a labor I'll slave till the end,
I won't cross these streets until you hold my hand
